On the Court, Precise HVAC Home Services Win Seniors, Juniors Division Championships
The West Hartford Girls Basketball League delivered a thrilling conclusion to the season, capped by high-intensity playoff action and championship games that showcased the very best of competitive youth basketball.
Seniors Division: Upsets, Defense, and a Dominant Finish
The Seniors Division playoffs featured four battle-tested teams: top-seeded Common Good Home Buyers (8–1), followed closely by Revolution Basketball Training (7–2), On the Court Basketball Training (6–3), and El Pollo Guapo (4–5). While the seeding told one story, the playoffs quickly proved that every team was a legitimate title contender.
From the opening tip, the postseason was defined by grit, resilience, and dramatic momentum swings. In one of the most exciting games of the tournament, On the Court Basketball Training stunned the #2 seed Revolution Basketball Training with a hard-fought 20–15 victory in a defensive showdown that went down to the final moments.
The surprises didn’t stop there. In another nail-biter, #4 seed El Pollo Guapo pulled off a statement win, upsetting #1 seed Common Good Home Buyers 21–18 in a physical, defense-first battle that had fans on the edge of their seats.
Those results set the stage for an unexpected—but electrifying—Seniors Division Championship matchup between On the Court and El Pollo Guapo. In the title game, On the Court left no doubt. Their offensive firepower proved overwhelming, as they surged to a decisive 34–14 championship victory, crowning themselves Seniors Division champions in emphatic fashion.
Juniors Division: Parity, Drama, and a Championship Statement
If the Seniors Division brought the drama, the Juniors Division brought unprecedented parity. Georgetown, Precise HVAC Home Services, and St. John’s all finished the regular season tied at the top with identical 7–1 records, underscoring just how competitive the league has become. Siena Private Wealth rounded out the playoff field as the fourth seed with a strong and determined squad.
With no tiebreaker able to separate the top three teams, a coin toss at the WHGBL Board Meeting was required to determine seeding. The result: St. John’s earned the #1 seed, followed by Georgetown (#2), Precise HVAC Home Services (#3), and Siena Private Wealth (#4).
Before playoff action tipped off, the league also treated fans to exciting consolation games, where HARP Home Services defeated Villanova 31–24, and Joey’s Pizza Pie claimed a convincing 30–11 win over UConn.
Once the playoffs began, offense took center stage. Precise HVAC Home Services delivered a strong performance to defeat Georgetown 25–13, while St. John’s showcased their scoring depth in a 41–22 victory over Siena Private Wealth.
That set up a highly anticipated Juniors Division Championship between Precise HVAC Home Services and St. John’s. In the final, Precise rose to the moment. Behind standout performances from key players, they controlled the pace and delivered a powerful statement win, capturing the championship with a commanding 45–22 victory.
